Bulgaria is the most popular tourist destination among the newest countries-members in the EU.
For the period June - September, last year, the common number of night spent of local and foreign tourists amount to 11,6 million BGN (5,8 million EUR) which marks an increase of 3,1% compared to 2005.
Most of the spent nights - 82% were made by foreign tourists.
Malta takes first place with 97% of foreign tourists, followed by Luxembourg - 95% and Cyprus - 91%.
Romania was visited by 17% foreign tourist.
